Opportunities for NHS professionals
The Yorkshire and Humber PSRC is introducing a new regional Patient Safety Research Development Award for NHS professionals/managers to enhance skills and knowledge in patient safety research by working with us on a short placement.
This award will give individuals the opportunity to have protected time to work with us and learn about aspects of patient safety research that are of interest to them and which also align with Yorkshire and Humber PSRC research themes.
What the award will fund
Up to £7k to fund protected time for you to be released from your NHS job to work with us.
Supervision and mentorship
If successful, you will receive expert supervision/mentorship from a research buddy, who will agree your learning objectives and support needs to ensure you get the most out of your placement. You may also opt to choose a mentor or clinical advisor from within your own organisation or from within our team who can act in an advisory and advocacy capacity. Several of our team have clinical backgrounds (medicine, nursing, allied health care practice, and psychology) which may help if you wish to develop a clinical academic career or require clinical advocacy to enable protected time when difficulties are encountered at work.
Eligibility
The award is open to NHS professionals (clinical staff and managers) working within healthcare settings or services (e.g., NHS Trusts, community care, primary care, ambulance service) in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
Your line-manager will need to support your application.
